    Explore the borderlands of Scotland and England during this full-day tour from Edinburgh. Stop at the charming town of Kelso, where you can explore this handsome town and what is thought to be Scotland’s largest market square. You also see the ruins of Kelso Abbey, a reminder of the many ancient conflicts between Scotland and England. Follow the ancient Roman Dere Street that connected Scottish Caledonia with Roman Britannia through the Scottish Borders. Stop at the charming town of Melrose, home to the remains of the Cistercian Abbey and the burial place of the heart of Scottish king Robert the Bruce. Cross the border and travel to thousand-year-old Alnwick Castle, one of the great castles of Northumberland. Originally built to protect the north of England from Scottish Border Reivers and invaders, more recently Alnwick Castle and its perfectly manicured gardens have found fame as one of the settings for the fictional Hogwarts School in the Harry Potter movie series. After around 3 hours at Alnwick, travel north along the stunning Northumberland Coast. You stop on your way back to Edinburgh at one of the beautiful historic villages or castles that pepper the rolling landscapes of Southern Scotland.

    Beautiful countryside in a minibus, driver was also our guide, interesting information on history and good music. It was raining and windy,but afrerwaeds the castle went to the centre to a local restaurant for a nice meal. The way back was nice as road was by the coast. Day went very quickly.

    The driver was very knowledgeable in history and competent in imparting it. The journey itself was pleasant however the castle I thought magnificent and surrounds of castle picturesque. The garden a d eating areas superb, not to mention tree house restaurants. My very first viewing of tree house restaurants with sway bridges should one want to use themSet in idyllic surrounds. Later we stopped outside the Armstrong’s castle. The driver drove the bus excellently well.

    Keith our Bus driver is so funny made us laugh and awake during the journey , Gave us the history of places of interest , he even drop us off and asked if we want to cross the bridge on the borders of England and Scotland which we did and it was so fun doing it in light rain , also in Bamburgh castle where we had a stopover , though it was not in the itinerary he was kind enough to let us go by the cliff where we could have photograph of the castle by the sea, All in all, exhilarating experience , go go go rabbies tours, more power
