What people are saying about Almancil

We were the only people on this fantastic tour, so it was more or less private. Paulo of happyvan.pt showed us the historic center of Loulé, while telling all kinds of stories about its history from centuries ago till very recent. He knows this place very well. He is very attentive in picking up what you find interesting and what can be mentioned but does not need elaboration. And it’s not only history he knows about, he also told us about culture and typical Portuguese beliefs and habits, which make the stories come alive more. His English is very good, so no trouble understanding each other. Paulo is a very pleasant person to talk to, it felt like a walk and meal with an friend. The food we tasted in 3 different places (5 courses in total) was typical Portuguese, but not all tradition. Some parts were with a modern twist. We ended the evening with a tasting of amêndoa amarga, which is great also. Even though we did some walking, we felt quite full after all this.

Very nice and educational. Good choice of restaurants. Highly recommended! Thanks Paulo!
