This tour is divided into two parts: during the first hour, you'll sightsee around old town and talk about Alicante's history and the origin of one of the best Mediterranean gastronomies, shaped by three fundamental factors: climate, ecosystems, and historical influences. After some sweets and two glasses of wine in one of the oldest shops in Alicante, go to the Central Market where the rest of the tour will take place. There, try coca and tonyina (tuna), coca de mollitas (cake), tomato salad, salted fish, cold sausages, turrón, Iberian ham, and seasonal fruits. Interact with the local owners of the shops and market stalls who will tell you about their experiences and family stories.
