Full description

Explore the history behind the Alcazaba of Almería complex and the Refugios de la Guerra Civil Española de Almería (underground shelters from the Spanish Civil War in Almería) on a guided walking tour, entry tickets to both sites included.

Start your visit at Alcazaba, one of the largest fortified complexes in Spain with a surface area of 40,000 meters squared. Its construction has been carried out over almost 500 years from the Islamic conquest to the conquest of the Catholic Monarchs in 1489.

Follow your guide through each of the three enclosures and get the rare chance to see scenes from films such as Wonder Woman 1986 and the series Game of Thrones up close and in person.

The next part of the tour will be to the largest open and preserved shelters in Europe, the Almería air raid shelters. This place protected around 40,000 people from Almería during the Civil War.

Descend 9-meters underground, and, if you are brave, you can go down farther to 16-meters to discover an old larder, a cool area used for food storage. Keep both eyes open as noises are often heard down here.
