  • Myvatn Nature Baths Entrance Ticket

    1. Myvatn Nature Baths Entrance Ticket

Myvatn Nature Baths is a traditional and tastefully designed complex offering a completely natural experience that you can enjoy with your day admission ticket. The 2 steam baths are built on top of a geothermal area and the sulfur steam rises up through holes in the floor. The water of the Myvatn Nature Baths is drawn from a borehole that goes 2,500 meters into the ground. The water has a high concentration of minerals, is basic in nature and well suited for bathing. Before or after bathing you can enjoy a light meal and drinks at Café Kvika in a beautiful setting with views of the stunning natural surroundings. You can also make use of the swim-up bar in the baths and enjoy a beer, wine, cider, soda, or glass of sparkling wine in the water.

Clean and well run. The baths are fabulous - especially when the sun is out :) I was lucky with the weather. GetYourGuide app discount was welcome ! It’s good value compared with prices of other thermal baths in Iceland - but still expensive in Uk pound terms.

  • Akureyri: 3-Hour Northern Lights Tour

    2. Akureyri: 3-Hour Northern Lights Tour

After being collected from your nearby hotel, you will drive out to the countryside or up to the mountains, away from electric glow and city sounds. Out here you will be able to enjoy the beautiful night sky at the best possible situation, of course depending on the weather. Also called Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon visible only in the far northern hemisphere. They are a unique display of light caused by a particle collision in the magnetic field of the polar caps. Your goal is not only to find the right sights for best photograph, but also to take your time to enjoy this fragile single moment that will never come again, but you may well remember for the rest of your life.

Amazing! It was very cloudy in Akureyri so our guide drove us an hour north to a patch of clear sky. Hot chocolate and donuts were provided as we watched the northern lights.
