Full description

Go kayaking through Adelaide's Dolphin Sanctuary on this guided tour. Get up close and personal with one of the ocean's most playful and friendly creatures.

Upon arrival, demonstrations and all equipment will be provided. Travel at a comfortable pace since you don't need any prior kayaking experience.

Start your tour by kayaking your way through 10,000-year-old mangrove-lined creeks, which are the ultimate feeding grounds for dolphins due to the seagrass, saltmarsh, tidal flats, and creeks. See the sanctuary's abundant birdlife and intricate ecosystem.

You can also paddle close to shipwrecks that have been abandoned from a bygone era. It's a special experience that simply can't be replicated.

Very knowledgeable and friendly guide. Only saw dolphins a long way away. The wrecks were very interesting. The Estuary was wonderful. Guides offered sunscreen and mosquito spray. Facilities poor. Carpark toilets were filthy. In the centre, the mens toilets were closed. No buses or advice how to get to the facility from Port Adelaide. Enjoyable activity overall.

We had such a lovely relaxing afternoon on the water. Our guide was very knowledgeable and put us at ease. We were very lucky and had two dolphins swim right under our kayak, but sightings aren’t guaranteed (which is fair enough as they are wild animals!). The experience is still worthwhile even if you don’t spot dolphins, but I must admit I would’ve been disappointed if I hadn’t.

The 3 hour kayak tour was great. We had Alex as our guide and he was just lovely, very calm and knowledgable. Being out on the water was such a relaxing experience. We explored two shipwrecks up close and learnt about their history. We also learnt about the local wildlife. The tour moved to the mangrove canals-a very atmospheric experience. We learnt about the mangrove trees and got to go deep into a beautiful wild part of the area. The twin person kayak was really comfortable too with good back support. Highly recommend.
