I really enjoyed this evening tour. Jacqueline pointed out buildings dating to the 16th century which were tucked away down narrow side streets which I wouldn't normally have noticed. She also explained how the city was established and Union Street constructed in 1801. She also showed us interesting black and white aerial photos of the splendid Marischal College which showed a large quad of manicured lawns in the interior, not visible from the outside at ground level. Jacqueline took us to places for food tasting including delicious cullen skink and she also had prepared for us homemade oatcakes. Cocktails at a bar to finish. A great evening out, educational and also fun.
Duff House is a grand stately home full of wonderful paintings and ornate ceilings. Really impressive. Afterwards we went to Pennan, a little community of whitewashed houses with gigantic cliffs rising behind them. Then on to Fraserburgh to a nearby lighthouse and I spent 45 minutes looking round the excellent lighthouse museum. As on the previous trip to Balmoral, Braemar and the Cairngorms, the tour guide Jacqueline was most attentive and informative, enriching my knowledge of the area.
Castle was amazing! Beautiful! Deeside and Braemar gorgeous! Lunch stop was fantastic! Got to see hairy coos! Guide was extremely knowledgeable and learned some new history on Scotland!
The tour guide was very friendly and know a lot about the area. Would highly recommend this tour
Alice was a great guide. I loved her stories and the fact she incorporated music into the tour.
