Liked skip the line and the guide. But it was too too crowded and we moved very fast. At one point I heard a fellow traveler say was that the Sistine chapel. It was not but we were going so fast that there was little time for pictures but I understand the guide was trying to keep us moving as it was so incredibly crowded.

With limited time in Rome, we nonetheless knew we wanted to see the Vatican and gambled on a last-minute tour booking rather than try to find our way around with just an audio self-tour. 10/10 recommendation for our tour with Barbara, who was clearly as passionate as she was knowledgeable about the many subtleties of this peculiar place. While surely a whole day (or more) would be warranted to truly take in the entirety of the papal collection and St Peter's Basilica alone, I feel we got an incredible "best-of" experience while skipping the lines into the most crowded sites. Do this, it's worth the price.

Our guide Mona was great. She provided a lot of interesting facts as we walked through the Vatican Museum and the best views in the Sistine Chapel. Although we were told at the beginning of the tour that St-Peter’s Basilica was closed, and she gave us a tour of Raphaël’s room as an alternative, she kept her eyes on the guards, and as soon as they opened the doors to the special access for guides only, she let us know that we were able to go through St-Peter’s Basilica.
