At 8.00 am, your guide will pick up you from your hotel and take a ride 2 hours to Kaiping where you visit Liyuan Garden, Zili Village. In Kaiping there are many Diaolou(Watch towers) that are listed as cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2007. Kaiping Diaolou and Villages were built by overseas Kaiping people during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These buildings take three forms: communal towers built by several families and used as temporary refuge, residential towers built by individual rich families and used as fortified residences, and watch towers to defend agaisnt local banditry. Then you will visit Chikan old town to view the local rural life before lunch. Afterwards you will be transferred back to Guangzhou, drop off at the hotel where the wonderful day trip concludes.
