Full description
Choose between 2 or 3 wine tastings with 9 to 20 wines on a luxury wine tasting tour of Burgundy, and sample exceptional wines, including Premier Cru and Grand Cru. Depart Beaune or Dijon at 09:30 and travel through the wine-producing villages of one of the world's most famous wine regions. Admire the vineyards of the Côte de Beaune, where great Burgundy wines such as Meursault and Chassagne-Montrachet are produced. Stop on the hillside of Corton to experience a unique location for red and white Grands Cru wines. Take part in a prestige wine tasting in a wine cellar, and savor elegant Pinot Noirs and unoaked white wines. Enjoy a wine tasting lunch at a family-run estate in the Côte de Nuits or Côte de Beaune, where you can choose wines paired with typical Burgundy dishes and cheeses (closed Sundays). Alternatively, eat lunch at an idyllic vineyard restaurant that serves traditional, elegant cuisine. Travel along Burgundy’s "Champs-Elysées" on the Route des Grands Crus and discover the picturesque wine-producing villages of the Côte de Nuits wine region, such as Vosne-Romanée, Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. Stop at Romanée Conti and Clos de Vougeot. After lunch, work off the calories with a stroll through the vineyards to learn more about the local wine growing practices and history of Burgundy wines. Visit a boutique winery and meet the winemaker as you investigate the finest examples of the Pinot Noir grape variety in relation to the terroir (soil). Return to your drop off point at approximately 17:30.

We thought the first tasting was great with a presenter who was passionate about her winery and the Burgundy region overall. The lunch tasting and meal was excellent and the travel through the region was wonderful. The last tasting could have been more professional as it was simply wine poured as we stood in the cellar poured over barrels. If they were trying to give us perspective regarding a small vineyard/owner, understood but was a bit uncomfortable.

The experience of a lifetime that will never be forgotten!

This wine tour was an absolute delight! My wife and I love wine from Burgundy, so the opportunity to tour and taste was something we couldn't miss. Our guide, Antonin, was absolutely phenomenal! His knowledge of wine and of Burgundy in particular is extremely nuanced - he explained to us how the region is organized, how to interpret Burgundy wine labels, highlighted major differences between vineyards/villages in terms of wine taste/terroir, and much more. During the tastings with Antonin, discussing the nose, bouquet, and the wine's development was so much fun - I still remember nailing down descriptions of particular notes we were all picking up, sharing stories, and having lots of laughs. My wife and I both felt as though all three of us had been friends for a long time even though we had just met. The tours themselves were beautiful and fascinating - the guides were very kind! The tastings were very generous - we must have tasted 20 wines, ranging from villages to grand cru!

Authentica Tours provided a phenomenal experience. From Day 1 a trip coordinator was in contact with me to help craft a personalized private tour. They were even flexible with me on planning a proposal for my girlfriend in front of a gorgeous vineyard. On the day of the tour, a brilliant tour guide picked us up right on the train platform in Dijon. His English was excellent, the private vehicle was spacious, and his wine knowledge was far beyond what we could learn in just two days. At each place we were given a private tasting that was led by our guide. He was extremely helpful in translating and communicating with both us in English and the winemakers in French. Throughout the tastings he reiterated that there was zero pressure to purchase any wine, but when we did he took the workload of coordinating with a shipping service to have it sent back to us in the United States. Overall we could not have asked for a better, more unique and educational trip.
