Full description
See the main imperial sights of Beijing on a comprehensive coach tour, starting with an early morning pick-up from your city center hotel and a transfer to Tian'anmen Square. Marvel at the monuments that pay testament to China’s communist regime and the Maoist influence on the nation's modern day history. One of the largest public squares in the world, Tian’anmen Square contains the monuments to the heroes of the revolution, the National Museum of China and the Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall. You will not enter the Square, but your guide will show and explain all these monuments from the distance. Next, enter the Forbidden City, the largest and best-preserved of the imperial palaces. The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing dynasty (1420 to 1912) and the complex exemplifies traditional Chinese palatial architecture. You will have approximately 2 hours to explore along the central axis, from the south (Outer Court) to the north (Inner Court). Then, transfer to the Temple of Heaven, stopping first by a traditional Chinese medicine shop. Upon arrival at the Temple of Heaven, see where the ancient emperors prayed for peace and a good harvest in the medieval complex of religious buildings. Break for a typical Chinese lunch in a local restaurant. Then, go to a traditional pearl market to shop for unique souvenirs. Continue to the vast complex of lakes and palaces at the Summer Palace, declared by UNESCO as “a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design.” Enjoy approximately 80 minutes to explore the pavilions, natural beauty of Kunming Lake and palaces and temples of Longevity Hill, before the transfer back to your hotel in the city center.

We had a small group of tourists during winter so it was a good size to move quickly and explore the highlights of each places. Vik was our guide, fluent in English. The Summer Palace was my favorite and I’m glad that Vik took us to the entrance near the iconic bridge. We were given 1 hour to explore. I would’ve wished it was at least 2 hours coz the land area was so huge. Lunch was good. The coach we used while it’s on time and clean enough, it had a strong smell of cigarette smoke in it. As indicated in the itinerary, there were 2 shopping stops for this tour.

Our guide Yoyo (with cute litte donkey flagpole) was not only great, she was very knowledgefull. History lessons was paired very well. Time was Forbidden as palace was huge with classical cultures while Summer seems beautiful in the lake. Local lunch was nice with its local flavors. Really wish those 2 commercial stops were removed as NONE like it as it really spoil the trip.

This was awesome. Favorite tour I did while we were in Beijing. The walking aspect of it was great because we got to see so much more then we expected. Despite the other reviews we loved the foot massage and so did the other people in our group. The medicine shop was really cool. You do have to tip the people For the foot massage but in our eyes we saw nothing wrong with that like other people reviewing because you have the option to opt out if you don’t like it. Leo’s english was fabulous best English speaking tour guide we had while we were in Beijing. It was fluent English not broken English like most other tour guides we had. The only complaint was the pearl shop. Everyone just stood around and didn’t do anything if you don’t want to shop you’re forced to stay in there for 45 minutes. I wish the temple of heaven was longer we stayed at the pearl shop longer than the temple Of heaven. Overall it was a really great tour and we LOVED LEO!!
