Full description
As the boat leaves Virpazar, you will first cruise past Fort Lesendro, built in the 18th century. As you head out onto the lake, you will be able to see many species of birds, especially cormorants and seagulls. You may even see pelicans drying their wings on top of the fort’s walls.  After that, you will cruise along the Moraca river. This area is a bird reserve and you will have the privilege to see up to 15 different bird species, depending on the time of the year.  Next, the boat will proceed inside the small and narrow channels that are surrounded by water lilies and reeds. If you are lucky enough, you may have the chance to see some nests and baby birds. The boat will then cruise around three beautiful islands - Small Cakovica, Big Cakovica, and Lipovnjak. On the other side of the islands, you will have free time to go swimming, with the beautiful mountains of Vranjina in the background.

Best choice while visitting Montenegro! Amazing views, cozy swim with motor boat, cool down swimming in Skadar lake, delicious home made donuts with honey and cheese, and cold water and sweet wine. And it's just for 10 euros! Surely has to be higher price for such service, as desk guy and captain was very friendly and informative. Make sure to leave bigger tips for such service, they worth it!

We were very fortunate to have good weather for the 2 hour boat ride around Skadar Lake. The Kingfisher team was easy to find on the stone bridge going through the center of Virpazar, and our guide/captain pointed out key landmarks as we cruised around the lake. It's better to pre-book the boat tour through Kingfisher online, than to book it through the other agencies when you arrive in the village.

The price is fine but don’t expect any explanations during the tour. The bummer was when the boat stopped due to a water bottle in the propeller. The captain could easily free the propeller bit instead of throwing the bottle into the trash it landed back in the lack. This is unacceptable and says a lot about the tour company - the lake that provides for them is not respected at all.
