Full description
The Uffizi Gallery is an absolute must when visiting Florence. Built in 1560 and known as the oldest museum in the world, it was designed by the famous renaissance architect Giorgio Vasari, but originally had a different purpose. The grand duke of Tuscany Cosimo I de Medici decided to re-establish the authority of the Medici family. The great industries of Florence such as wool, silk, and banking had a huge influence on the politics in Florence. After Cosimo I eliminated most of his rivals he decided to collect the rest of them in one single building and give an office to each of them. In fact, Uffizi means offices. Cosimo's idea was to keep his eyes and ears on all of them. After Cosimo's death, his children lost interest in politics. His eldest son, Francesco I, brought his private collection of art works and made the Uffizi his private museum. In this tour Uffizi tour with a professional guide, you will not only get the benefit of saving your time, but you will also acquire inside stories behind some of the most notable masterpieces conserved in Florence. After your Uffizi tour, you are welcome to enjoy some refreshments in the cafeteria on the Uffizi Gallery's terrace. Take in the unique views of the city, relax and take pictures.

I think this tour will always hinge on the guide, and Maria was fantastic. She has a wonderful way of navigating the crowds and the museum and makes sure each person in her group has a fantastic experience by being mindful and maintaining awareness of each person’s vibe. But it’s also her deep knowledge and insight and great storytelling that engages the group and makes the difference. Thank you, Maria!

This guided tour was an exceptional experience of the Uffizi museum. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to have a more in-depth discussion regarding the rare art collection to use this company and their guides!! We actually ended up touring for almost 2 hours with our guide and then had extra time to look around and explore other works. Thank you for an amazing experience.

We had a very interesting and varied tour of the Uffizi with Rosella. In a short time she gave us a lot of information about Florence and its history. Right from the start of the tour. In the museum, she patiently explained the highlights to us. There was enough time to take pictures. Highly recommended!
