Full description

After pick-up from your hotel, make your way to Camara de Lobos where beautiful landscapes were painted by Sir Winston Churchill in the 1950s. The drive takes you along the old narrow roads of Estreito de Camara de Lobos, where the vines were first introduced and still exist today. Visit Madeira's pride and Cabo Girão, the highest sea cliff in Europe and the second highest in the world. Then, the route descends to Ribeira Brava so you can visit old monuments including the church. Continue the drive through to Paul da Serra Madeira´s popular flat plateau at 1500m above sea level. Embrace the beautiful laurel forest views through Madeira´s little green Scotland. Arrive at Porto Moniz, natural volcanic pools, where it's time to take a break and have a swim. You will also have the chance to buy lunch here. The tour continues along the north coast where waterfalls are visible. Drive through the village of São Vicente where nature will escort you up to the Encumeada Pass, where the North meets the South at 1007 meters above sea level. At the end of the tour you will be dropped back at your hotel.

The tour started a little bit late but was very good experience. Lucy gave us a lot of information about living in Madeira which was interesting. She tried to avoid stops at peak times and took us to see the less touristic viewpoints which was nice. Swimming in Porto Moniz was the high point of this day. However, I cannot recommend the restaurant we were guided in Porto Moniz.

Excellent because of the tour guide/driver CARLOS who was great! Made the tour even more special, very interesting,funny,practical..worth of it!!! Otherwise,the organizer,the girl in the agency,Lucy,probably, did not send us final e-mail with the information for pick up, did not give us info that the tour won't start/the pick up , at 8.30,but at 9 o'clock and last, ahe told the driver thw wrong hotel..so the whole group was late and driving arround for nothing..But thw guide and the tour excellent!!

A small group of eight tourists in the minibus which made it very interactive with the tour guide which spoke fluent English and French despite him being a Portuguese. He was the driver and also the tour guide. Very knowledgeable about the history of all the places we visited which lasted for eight hours. I can recommend this company to friends and family in future tours.
