Full description

Take on the grade 2 whitewater rapids on the Athabasca River while taking in the fresh air and scenic mountain views.

Start your tour in the town of Jasper and head only 8 km south to the put-in point. After suiting up in wetsuits and a safety talk, it's off to the river.

Begin with a 10-minute float to get comfortable in the raft, experience the river environment, and admire the 360-degree Mountain View.

After, embark on the grade 2 rapids which guarantee a splash without the likelihood of falling in. You can choose to swim in the glacial water if you feel brave enough.

After 4 or 5 sections of rapids, the Miette River joins the Athabasca and the trip ends just around the corner at Old Fort Point. All trips are in 8-person rafts with a licensed river guide.

Great guides with lots of energy. They set up our expectations accordingly and were inclusive of all attendees despite our diversity. The weather was starting to get cooler when we went (September), so it was very cold at the end of the tour and changing, as the only place to change is on the bus, so not very warm or spacious, so bring lots of warm clothes to change in to.

Worth the push to drive from Austin,TX to Jasper for the last trip of the season.. Staff and crew were top notch professionals, informative, and fun from beginning to end. Met really nice folks from all around as well, even tho Alberta was really tightening its Covid restrictions. Changing into wetsuits on the bus was a hilarious experience. Paddles UP!

This activity occurred on September, which was already cold. However, we were provided wetsuits, neoprene jackets, socks and shoes to keep us warm and comfortable. The guides were there ahead of time, they were knowledgeable, funny, and wonderful. This activity is a perfect introductory to white water rafting. The guides knew what they were doing, which made us feel safe. Elliott was extremely funny!
