Step into the shoes of the young Shakespeare, sit in the very room that he sat in as a pupil and learn about what subjects the great man would have studied and the teaching methods of the day. You will hear how he encountered the riches of classical literature and theater and saw some of the country’s finest actors perform in this building. Built in 1420, Stratford's Guildhall is one of only a few remaining medieval Guildhalls in the country. The authentic and immersive experience of a visit to this early fifteenth-century b...
We were almost railroaded into this activity, due to Shakespears birthplace and Ann Hathaways cottage being closed on Thursday and Friday! (During school holidays and in an era when every business is trying to get back on its feet, go figure?) Anyway, I am glad they were, because in all honesty we would probably not bothered to go here otherwise. A very evocotive building and you can almost feel the history coming out of its walls. Perhapse a little disjointed with the various things happening, film show, school master (ensure you brush up on your Latin), school room etc, and how you are shown around, but there is alawys someone on hand to point you in the right direction. Oh, and if you're into history (obvs) wait until you see the medievel painting!!

We loved the fact that we were given a comprehensive tour with a tour guide who was very knowledgable. The classroom experience with the teacher in role was a truly thrilling experience.. He really brought the experience to life.
Fascinating museum. I learned a lot about Shakespeare ‘s life and plays. Really good exhibition and lovely gardens. An amazing feeling to realise you are walking in the footsteps of such a revered poet and playwright.
This was an excellent experience. Guides and assistants were very informative and school room was entertaining as well as learning about the history of the school. I would recommend this for all age groups.
Enjoyable! It's interactive and not just a showroom with notes. A fun way to discover the history (and the chapel part is just wow!!!) ❤️
Excellent place to visit in the heart of Stratford
