  • St Petersburg: Peterhof Museum Park Ticket and Audioguide

    2. St Petersburg: Peterhof Museum Park Ticket and Audioguide

Travel to the kingdom of fountains and see the most interesting things in the Lower Park of Peterhof! Your tour will begin with a dive into the history of Peterhof at the Orangery fountain. Then you will go on a journey through the Lower Park, see the Chess Mountain cascade, visit one of the most “dangerous” places in the park - “Water Road” and the “Dubok” and “Umbrella” fire fountains. Walk through the beautiful Monplaisir Garden and admire the beautiful panorama of the Gulf of Finland and St. Petersburg. You will learn the history of the fountains "Adam" and "Eve", passing between which you will have a breathtaking view of the Grand Cascade and the Peterhof Palace. You will walk in the garden of Venus, see the Marly Palace and the "Labyrinth" - the most secluded place in the park. You will find the most unusual monument to Peter I with a small child in her arms and learn its history...

The palace and gardens were beautiful but despite paying for foreign citizen tickets we were only offered Russian audio guides. There are places where it's not permitted to take photos but you're given out to in Russian as there are no English signs.Found myself shooed on a lot which was frustrating when trying to take photos. Almost a full day is required to really see everything. Upper garden at the time of our visit was under renovation but we were not informed before purchasing our tickets on Get your Guide.

  • St.Petersburg: Grand Maket Russia Ticket

    3. St.Petersburg: Grand Maket Russia Ticket

Enjoy an illuminating visit to the National Show Museum 'Grand Maket Russia' and its single exhibit – the unique miniature model of Russia! Marvel at a colossal working layout, that artistically represents the incredible country. At 800 square meters, this 'man-made miracle' is the second largest model in the world. Witness the spectacular finished product, which took dozens of professions five years to create. Spot the various cities and regions presented in the model, as well as scenes reflecting all kinds of human activity . Have fun watching the model come alive through its dynamic rail and road traffic. More than 200 trains passing along its tracks, which stretch for almost 2500 meters. Be amazed by the cars, which use electromagnetic induction as their power supply and are complete with working headlights brake lights and turn signals that illuminate the roads at 'night'. Get the ...

This was a hidden gem. It's a must-visit if you are travelling with kids. The details of the entire model were fantastic. It's engrossing and you can actually identify structures. Much better than the "Mini Europe" in Brussels. The way the vehicles, weather and time of day are controlled is mind-boggling. The artwork is fantastic. It will take you back to your childhood.

I would highly recommend using Get a Guide when visiting the Hermitage museum, particularly now with the covid protocols in place & numbers of tourists being allowed access into the Hermitage controlled & the routes to choose from. Our guide Tim was very knowledgable & an expert in his field. Before starting out tour he gave us some interesting background & history of the Winter Palace, Alexander Column & the General Staff Building. During our tour of the Hermitage Tim’s talked us through each room, highlighting important details & pointing interesting things to see, which if we were not on a guided tour would be missed, for example how the ceilings & inlaid floors mirror each other in the Throne Room. His art knowledge is vey good & he shared insights into the artists techniques, styles & what to look for in the paintings, which was very interesting.
