Get away from the crowd
For a relaxing experience locals enjoy, try a spa/schwimmbad in Heidelberg. Pools, saunas and steamrooms will soak your worries away, although foreigners should check websites to find out exactly how 'German' the experience will be. Some won't allow swimwear.
Eat like a king
For a quick taste of Germany try a currywurst – the nation's best fast food – especially after a few good beers. Ask for "ohne darm" (without skin) for an authentic experience, and soak up your sauce "mit pommes" (with fries).

What people are saying about Heidelberg
Our guide was Olga and she was phenomenal! She was incredibly knowledgeable and full of energy. She has a wonderful personality and her Enthusiasm really showed through. If she may have given this to her a 100 times or a 1000 times but she was incredibly enthusiastic and really made it a nice personal experience. Ours was an English tour but I understand that Olga It is also fluent in German and Russian and may be other languages. At the end of the tour we really hated to see her go. I wish we had not run out of things to learn about :)
Picking up from the hotel would have been pointless at a distance of 5 km. We then arranged a meeting point with the guide in town.
