After getting picked up from your hotel in Nairobi, head to the Giraffe Center, where you can see giraffes living in a semi-wild state. Learn about their behaviors, traits and conservation efforts.  You will also get the opportunity to feed these gentle giants.  Next, head to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Take a walk through the center where baby elephants wait to be fed. Watch them play in the water and gargle their milk and discover each of the elephant's personal story. Once the youngest are fed, its time to feed the 2-3-year-olds, some of whom are old enough to feed themselves. Watch as they hold their giant milk bottles in their trunks and make quick work of several gallons of milk.  Your final stop before heading back to Nairobi will be the Kazuri Beads Factory. Get the opportunity to admire the beautiful beads and pottery which have been handcrafted by African women.

Take a 3-day tour to discover the Masai Mara Reserve, the most popular tourist destination in Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley, the reserve is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration, involving over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November, is a phenomenal spectacle that can only be seen in the Maasai Mara. Most visitors will have the opportunity to spot one of the Big 5—lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos. Day 1: Get picked up from your hotel in Nairobi city center at 8 AM, then drive to Maasai Mara Nature Reserve. Pass the great Rift Valley viewpoint for breathtaking views and stop for lunch on the way. After check-in at your hotel, depart for a game viewing drive in the Mara Reserve.  Return back to the camp for a sumptuous buffet dinner. Stay overnight in a big tent that has a bed, linen, shower, and toilet inside. Mosquito nets and a hot shower in the evening are provided. Day 2: Spend the full day exploring Masai Mara in search of the Big Five. Enjoy picnic lunches in the Reserve as you discover the beautiful banks of the Mara River. After the game drive, you will return back to the camp for dinner and an overnight. Day 3: Enjoy the last early morning game drive in Mara Reserve followed by breakfast. Then, drive back to Nairobi where upon arrival you will be dropped back at your city center accommodation. Upgrade your tour to include a hot air balloon ride. Get picked up by the balloon safari vehicle and drive to the launching area. Drift over the park as you view the animals, take in the amazing sunrise with a buffet breakfast and champagne. Alternatively, include an evening visit to the local Masai village for a cultural tour. Learn about the Masai community and interact with the local people.

6. From Nairobi: Amboseli National Park Day Trip & Game Drive

We will start our trek early at 5.a.m on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, crossing the African savannah. We’ll soon take in a luminous Kenya sunrise lighting up a countryside of homesteads and brightly outfitted Maasai herdsmen with their cattle. Within 3 – 4 hours we will arrive and start the adventure with our first game drive. With Mt. Kilimanjaro as our background (weather permitting), you’ll see the herds of protected elephants, many sporting immense ivory tusks. For even more wildlife viewing, we’ll take a ride up to Observation Hill. This vantage point will give us an overall vista of the entire park. Check out the swamps below where the elephants gather daily. You can also walk about the hill as it’s one of the few places in the park you can explore on foot. The birdlife is also abundant in Amboseli, especially around the swamp and marshlands of the park. You’ll find raptors and also water birds like pelican, Pink flamingoes, crake and kingfisher and others. Another unique feature here is the indigenous Maasai people who live within the park’s borders. If you’d like you can take an optional visit with the Maasai to meet them and learn about their culture and lifestyle (time permitting) We’ll settle in at Amboseli serena lodge for lunch, one of the nicest restaurants in the park at around 12.30 p.m. and enjoy a sumptuous lunch or you may carry your own picnic lunch to be enjoyed at the observation hill. After lunch we shall have a short enroute game drive of the day. This will be a shorter tour, but we may spot elephants roaming from the marshes as they tend to later in the day. Having taken in the best of Amboseli, we head back to the highway and to the capital city of Nairobi, arriving in the evening. This has been a full day of sights, sounds, magnificent wildlife and a glimpse into the safari life in Africa.

The first pink tongues of sunlight flicker across the skies as the hot air balloon fills, then rises. Day 1: Nairobi to Maasai Mara Your tour will begin as you depart from Nairobi towards the Maasai Mara Reserve via the Great Valley Viewpoint, where you will have a stopover for sightseeing (weather permitting). From there you will arrive in a tented camp in time for lunch and will later enjoy a game drive in this breathtaking land to truly enter the wild. You can hunt for the "big five", as well as the plain game such as the gnus (which are are abundant in this area). Day 2: Masai Mara On your second day you will enjoy a full day of game viewing through the rolling grass of the Mara, which consists of endless plains where more than 2 million wild beast gnu's migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania with their calves. You will then visit the banks of the Mara River to try and spot hippos, before having the option to visit a Maasai village to learn of their unchanged traditional culture. Day 3: Maasai Mara to Nairobi Your day will begin with a morning drive to try and search for what you have not spotted so far, before you return to the camp for lunch and checkout. It will then be time to say "kwaheri", a Swahili word for good-bye, to the pastoral Maasai as you depart for your return trip to Nairobi.

Your adventure begins at 6:00 AM with pickup in Nairobi. From there you'll head straight to Lake Nakuru National Park. The Lake is renowned as a bird sanctuary with over 400 bird species at times. There can be up to two million greater and lesser flamingoes and tens of thousands of other birds at Lake Nakuru. As a result the park is referred to as the "Birds' Paradise". The National Park is also a rhino sanctuary with excellent wildlife viewing. You'll enjoy wildlife viewing as soon as you enter the park gates, and when it's time for lunch, you'll stop at the lodge where you can purchase a meal at a local restaurant.  After lunch, continue to enjoy wildlife viewing on the drive out of the park. You'll leave the park at approximately 3:00 PM and head to Lake Naivasha for an optional 1-hour boat ride. If you'd like to include the boat ride, be sure to select the correct option when making your booking. On the boat ride, enjoy bird watching, eagle feeding, and hippo viewing. At the end of the boat ride, you'll head back to Nairobi for a 6:00 PM arrival.

It was an amazing experience meeting the Masai family and spending time with them in their home. I also really enjoyed seeing the inside of the homes built by the women. The drive from Nairobi was great too as the landscape is magnificent and the air is clean and it’s beautiful to see the different sides of Kenya. Douglas was a great guide and made the whole experience smooth and comfortable. He also spent time explaining to me about Kenya’s history and about the different customs and traditions. I would highly recommend this experience!

Peter ist ein toller Guide, weiß viel über die Gegend und die Tiere zu erzählen. Die Radtour ist wirklich herausfordernd und auch der Weg durch die Schlucht sehr hügelig. Eine Grundfitness ist ratsam Peter nimmt sich aber auch die Zeit für Pausen und als letzter Ausweg steht auch noch ein Rücktransport mit Auto zur Verfügung. Der Tag war wunderschön, für das Essen und die Bootstour sind nochmal 50€ einzuplanen. Danke für diese fantastische Tour und die einmaligen Erlebnisse!

This was our most favourite day in Kenya! The Giraffe Centre was a beyond incredible experience! It was a little bit of a shame that we had a lot of waiting time between activities but we highly recommend this experience! Stephen was also fabulous and went above and beyond - he was so willing to provide information and take photos for us (we didn’t even have to ask). Thank you so much!
